Skip was born and raised in Charleston, SC.  After graduating from Porter-Gaud Prep School and the University of Georgia, where he majored in business, he entered the family photography business. While there he helped grow Jacobs Photo’s to five retail Camera Stores and grew the photofinishing plant to the largest photography business in Charleston and the second largest in the state of South Carolina. He worked from the bottom up starting as a retail sales person and quickly became VP of director of sales and marketing.  He earned numerous industry designations.  After helping to transition the business, Skip entered the mortgage industry and worked for twenty plus years as a loan officer, branch manager, sales manager, and regional manager for several Fortune 500 banking institutions. In the mortgage business, Skip worked hard to serve the best interests of his clients consistently receiving high accolades for customer service and cultivating long term professional relationships.  While at Wachovia, Skip was named the primary liaison for the Physician Lending Program in conjunction with Carolinas Medical Center and other regional hospitals.

Skip’s goal in joining Abiding Wealth Advisors, LLC was to create a deeper meaningful relationship with clients by bringing a multi-disciplinary approach made up specialist in all areas.  He has earned the following insurance licenses:  life, health, Medicare, and long term care and is currently serving in the capacity of an Independent Insurance Specialist.  He has the ability to work with over 100 different insurance carriers trying to match the client’s specific needs to the most suitable insurance product.

Skip is extremely active in the local community serving as a political precinct chairman, a booster club member With Indian Land School, and with Pastors Prayer Partners at Calvary Church. He has been a past board member with Black Horse Run Homeowners Association and Junior Warden at St Margaret’s Episcopal Church. He continues to participate in several homebuilder associations and philanthropic entities in the community. 

Skip and his wife Leslie live in Indian Land, SC with their two children.
